Anthony Veder to take on the technical management of the Clipper “Stad Amsterdam”oktober 8, 2007

On October 8th 2007, the board of Rederij Clipper "Stad Amsterdam" has singed a management agreement for the technical management of three mast full-rigger "Stad Amsterdam" with Anthony Veder Rederijzaken B.V.. After a period of preparation Anthony Veder will take over the management of the vessel February 1st 2008.

The preparation period will be used to adapt the management system of Anthony Veder to incorporate the management of a passenger ship and in this period the crew on board will be familiarized with the systems of the new manager.

Both commercial exploitation and crew management will remain with Rederij Clipper "Stad Amsterdam". By signing this contract the owner aims to ensure continuity for the future in regards to technical management, safety and security, changing legislation and Port State Control.

The Clipper "Stad Amsterdam" was build by initiative of Randstad and the city of Amsterdam. The ship is sailing Dutch flag and is classed passenger vessel. The vessel is a square rigger with a classical line. On the 60 meter wooden deck, the passengers can enjoy the impressive rigging. The vessel has 14 luxury passenger cabins, a spacious dining room for dinners and presentations and a bar on deck. The "Stad Amsterdam" is available for business events, luxury cruises and adventurous trips.

Anthony Veder is a Rotterdam based gas tanker owner & operator with 16 gas tankers in its fleet of which 12 are in full management. The manager controls two new build gas tankers currently under construction. For Anthony Veder the "Stad Amsterdam" is a technically interesting addition to the fleet. The management of a passenger vessel is quality wise on an equal level as the management of gas tankers which is the basis for this cooperation between the two companies.
