Similar to LPG, carbon dioxide (CO2) is liquefied to be transported by ship. The liquefied phase is reached by pressurizing and cooling. Anthony Veder has gained extensive experience with the transport of CO2 with its one of a kind dedicated CO2 carrier the “Coral Carbonic”. With the latest developments in Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) and offshore Enhanced Oil/Gas Recovery (EOR/EGR) the need and opportunity to transport CO2 on a larger scale has come forward.
The recent CO2 developments are focused on using CO2 emissions from various sources such as power generation-, manufacturing-, processing-, and oil & gas industry. Shipping CO2 from these industrial locations to offshore fields is a reliable and flexible logistical solution to move CO2.
